“I realized for the first time in my life I could see both walls to the right and left of me. My right eye had turned on and started working.”

Vision is something most of us take for granted. But for Justin Levy, a life marked by cerebral palsy, dyslexia, and vision challenges meant navigating a world that never quite came into focus—until he discovered Vision Therapy.
Justin was born with a brain bleed that led to cerebral palsy, requiring him to relearn how to walk four times and undergo 14 surgeries on his legs, back, and eyes. He struggled with reading his entire life, not finishing his first book until he was 21 years old. Despite attempts at achieving two eye alignment with numerous strabismus eye muscle correction surgeries and previous attempts with various vision interventions, he had never experienced binocular vision or depth perception—until he walked through our doors.

A Life-Changing Experience at MyVisionFirst
When Justin first met our team, we could see his determination. He had spent years adapting, using coping mechanisms, and pushing through. But we knew there was so much more possible for him.
Through intensive Vision Performance Training, Justin worked two to three hours a day, actively participating in his own transformation. He committed fully, and by the end of his therapy, everything changed.
- For the first time ever, he saw in 3D.
- He caught 11 out of 12 beanbags after a lifetime of zero depth perception.
- He finished a 375-page book—after 20+ years of not reading.
- He experienced the world in a way he never had before.
Justin flew home to Boulder with a newfound confidence. And then, just days later, he had a moment that solidified his transformation:

More Than Just Vision—A New Reality
Vision Performance Training at MyVisionFirst isn’t just about eyesight or even just Vision therapy —it’s about opening up a new world of possibilities, confidence, and independence. Justin’s journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, and what is possible when you work with the right team of experts.
Now, he’s not just seeing the world in a new way—he’s living it fully.
If you or someone you know struggles with vision problems, there is hope. We’re here to help.

Justin shares his story because he wants to advocate for others and help people understand the life-changing impact of Vision Therapy.
“I am so grateful to now be a vital visionary with the team at My Vision First, to not only continue the work that I do to make sure that kids and families have access to healthy food every single day, but also be an advocate for vision therapy and helping to shift the reality of so many so that they can live an easier life.”
